WRF-NMM was developed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP). The NOAA/NCEP and the Developmental Testbed Center (DTC) are currently maintaining and supporting the WRF-NMM portion of the overall WRF code (Version 2) that includes:
- Nonhydrostatic Mesoscale Model (NMM) dynamic solver, including one-way static nesting;
- WRF Preprocessing System (WPS) / Standard Initialization (SI) package;
- Numerous physics packages contributed by WRF partners and the research community;
- WRF Postprocessing (WPP) package and scripts for several graphical packages.
NOMADS contains NAM output over CONUS (awphys) on the 12-km Lambert-conic conformal 218 grid, over all of North America (awip32) on the 32-km polar-stereographic 221 grid, and over Alaska (awak3d) on the 11.25-km polar-stereographic 242 grid. The domains covered by the NAM and these output grids can be viewed at http://www.emc.ncep.noaa.gov/mmb/namgrids.
